PRESIDENT'S 7 MILE RUN

First, a little thank you to the weatherman. The forecast called for snow the night before with the possibility of a couple inches throughout the night and into the morning. The snow came north but it stopped at the Palmer Divide so the day dawned cold but clear.

Secondly, thanks to all the volunteers who made the race easy to direct. We had Tom Alison, Deb Acree, and Dave Black at registration. Joe Sanchez, Vici DeHaan and her daughter out on the course. Joe Baird at the finish. Also a special thanks to Vici for helping to round up the door prizes.

Sixty runners and two race walkers showed up to compete. The course was an out/back on asphalt road and no hills. FYI, 39 of the 62 were CMRA members.

Well, say a little prayer for the President's 7-miler. Unless we get a volunteer who is sentimentally attached to this race and takes it over this will be the last one. See the President's corner in the November / December 2004 newsletter for the details.
