Beautiful weather with sunshine prevailed for the 8.5- mile double-triple cross race at the Stone House. Despite the snow the previous week, 97 runners navigated the three creek crossings on an out/back course along the Bear Creek horse trail and greenbelt (icy water was knee high in some places). Runners encountered some mud, but no major casualties on the icy north face of Mount Carbon.

Jonathan Huie was the overall winner with an amazing 49:04! Jonathan was all alone with only Omar Martinez, 54:59 behind him for second place overall. Rochelle Persson of Colorado Springs was our first female finisher in 60:48. Christine Adamowski was the second female finisher, 64:05 and first female master runner. Keith Johnson, 57:30 /10th overall was our first master male runner.

The race walk category saw Per-Magnus Persson, 40:23 (1) and Susan Stone, 53:39 (2). Also, Lincoln High School was represented with five runners, all placed in the high school category.

I would like to mention two runners visiting here from Spain. Fernando Giraldez and Julieta Giraldez who chose to come run our race. Fernando took first in the men's 55-59 category, he was thrilled.
