Bluffs 5K
Saturday, Apr 12 - 9 AM Bluffs Regional Park
Lone Tree, Colorado

The entire race is within the beautiful prairie setting of Bluffs Regional Park, starting and finishing next to the parking area. The course loops once around the park on wide, pea gravel paths. The footing is generally good, with few wash outs. And it's only 5K, right? Keep in mind the course features 750 feet of elevation change. The stretch on top of the bluff is over level ground. The AVERAGE grade over the rest of the loop approaches 10% (some up, some down). There are no trees, and the breeze can be stiff. So be prepared to suck wind, one way or another. Trail shoes are not needed unless it has been snowing.

Directions:
From C-470, take the Yosemite Street exit and head south 1-1/2 miles to Lincoln Avenue. Or from I-25, take the Lincoln Avenue exit and head west 9 tenths of a mile to Yosemite Street. Either way, from the intersection of Yosemite and Lincoln, go south on Yosemite about 200 yards, to Crooked Stick Trail. Turn right and continue south another 400 yards to the Bluffs Regional Park parking area. See a map of the race course on the USATF site here.

See the Google Map for details.
